Khal Dbrookwood Community Messaging

This service lets members of our community take part in family and community group chats using ordinary text messages. It works on every phone that can send a text — no smartphone, app, or internet connection required.

How it works

Each group has its own phone number. When a member texts that number, the message is delivered to the other members of the group. Announcement groups deliver messages from group administrators to all members.

Joining a group

Membership is by request only. Ask a group administrator — in person, by phone, or through the synagogue office — to add your number. You will receive a welcome message identifying the group as soon as you are added. No one is added to a group without asking to join.

Leaving a group

Reply STOP or #LEAVE to any group message at any time and you will be removed immediately. Reply HELP or #HELP for a list of commands, or contact us using the details below.

Message frequency and rates

Message frequency varies by group and by how active its members are. Message and data rates may apply according to your mobile plan.
